Bizzydoo Kids Fest

The Hilton Long Island in Melville hosts the Bizzydoo Kids Fest from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. There will be tons of things for kids 12 and under to do, including a petting zoo, two bounce houses, face painting, character visits, live entertainment, raffles and more. Parents can also learn about some fun and unique things to do with kids on Long Island. Tickets are $4-7 when purchased in advance and $5-10 at the door. Kids under 2 enter for free. Morgan Park Summer Music

The music continues in Morgan Memorial Park this week with Jimmy and The Parrots, a Jimmy Buffet Tribute. This concert is sponsored by PSEG Long Island. Music starts at 7:30 p.m. Morgan Park overlooks the harbor at Germaine Street between Landing Road and McLoughlin Street in Glen Cove. Bring chairs or blankets, and a picnic if you wish. Breakfast at Belmont

The Breakfast at Belmont program enables families to enjoy good food at very reasonable prices while watching Thoroughbreds train in the morning. After breakfast, fans are invited to take a free tram ride through the stable area, enjoy a free Paddock Show and participate in a free Starting Gate demonstration. The optional quick-service breakfast buffet for $8.95 including coffee, tea and juices is available through 9:30 a.m in the first floor of Clubhouse. Blood Drive

Farmingdale State College is hosting a blood drive from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Farmingdale Campus Center Ballroom. All presenting donors will win a free pair of Mets tickets.

Those looking to donate should bring an ID with a signature or photo, be a minimum weight 110 lbs and have not gotten a tattoo for the past 12 months. Participants must be age 16 to 75 (16-year-olds must have parental permission) and those over the age of 75 must bring a doctor’s note, For questions concerning medical eligibility, call 1-800-688-0900. Free Concert

Good Shepard Lutheran Church, 99 Central Park Rd. in Plainview. presents a free concert at 7:30 p.m. The Beta Blockers will play crowd favorites on the lawn. Eclectic in personalities and sound, the Beta Blockers unite thoughtfulness and irreverence with drive, excitement, passion and message. There is no charge for this concert, but a free-will donation to help improve the school’s playground is greatly appreciated. Movie: A Summer Place

The Plainview library presents two showings of A Summer Place at 2:30 and 7:30 p.m. A self-made businessman rekindles a romance with a former flame while their two teenage children begin a romance of their own, with unexpected consequences for both couples. Our Life In Japan

When Carole and Richard Witkover were invited to lecture and do research in Japan for a semester, they packed up and took their children, teenagers at the time, to Japan for six months. Their family was able to experience the culture in a way not available to the typical tourist. Join them as they share their experiences and their always beautiful photography from this unique adventure with a program at the Plainview library at 2 p.m.

SixGun: Country With A Kick

The Plainview library invites residents to spend a hot summer night with SixGun, the tri-state area’s premier country/rock band. Known for its tight harmonies and hot leads, the band features Top 40 country, souther rock, classic rock/blues, original songs and more. Concert is at 8 p.m. in the auditorium.

Good Shepard Hospice Bereavement Services are open at no charge to anyone in the community who has experienced a loss through death with its Spousal/Partner Loss Group.
