A team of seventh and eighth grade students from the Plainview-Old Bethpage Middle School recently won first place in the Odyssey of the Mind regional competition held in Wantagh. The students were assigned to create a problem replicating an adventure in a haunted forest. The problem solving-based international competition encourages students to enhance their creativity, critical thinking and artistic abilities.
Following their win, the team of seven girls qualified to represent the Long Island region in the state competition in Binghamton, NY.
The District congratulates the following team members for their outstanding achievement: Briana Garil, Melanie Roth, Vidushi Dugar, Jenna Turini, Sydney Schmidt, Sam Coleman, and Gabrielle Calderon.
