Plainview Hosts Engineering Night

Plainview-Old Bethpage Central School District’s John F. Kennedy High School recently hosted hundreds of students and parents in celebration of Engineering Awareness Night across the district. Planned and hosted by the POB-JFK Robotics Team—the POBots—Engineering Awareness Night provided students the opportunity to engage with POBots, teachers and administrators about the importance of STEAM learning and its applications in and out of the classroom.

At the event, students test drove real robots built by the POBots and participated in numerous other activities challenging their creative problem-solving skills, including building and functional design exercises. The annual celebration of STEAM programming is part of the District’s ongoing initiative to reinforce learning in critical STEAM areas of study and develop a passion for STEAM curriculum in young students.
